Week Four: Body Copy for website

Website body copy:

Introduction

Rain, hail, shine or slightly hung over, Wellington’s local produce markets have a devoted following, which continues to grow. The markets are jam-packed with colour, energy and local flavours, where you can browse through the stalls, listening to local musicians playing in the background, whilst sourcing your fresh produce for the week.

Beet the prices, save your celery, and buy local produce from your nearest market. Skip the Supermarket and instead leave skipping from the Fruit and Vegetable Markets!

*May need to elaborate and introduce the video

Why buy local?
1. Local produce tastes better, and is better for you.
2. Local food supports local farm families.
3. Local food is the future.
4. Environmental factors.

*Will need to elaborate on these using points we communicated in the video

Harbourside Markets

On the corner of Cable St and Barnett St, alongside Te Papa, The Harbourside Markets is overflowing with fruit, vegetables and happy customers.  Known for being the oldest and most popular market in Wellington, you are sure to find a bargain straight from the hands of the people who farmed it.  Don’t miss out! Open every Sunday morning 7.30am–1pm in winter and 7.30am–2pm in summer.

Victoria Street markets

Sitting at the upper end of Willis street, Te Aro, the asphalt car park is transformed into the Victoria Street Markets every Sunday, providing the community with everything from fruit and vegetables to a cheerful smile from the growers themselves.  Check it out, open every Sunday morning 6am–2.30pm.

What to bring

1. Cash
The stalls within the markets are cash only, so be sure to come prepared, cash in hand, leave your plastic at home!
 2. Trolley bag
Your bound to be stocking up on tons of fresh fruit and veges, so make sure you have a big bag for the journey home. We recommend getting your mits on a trolley bag, its re-usable and makes carrying your produce a whole lot easier.
3. Appropriate footwear
Navigating your way through the crowds within the markets is no task for high heels, so whip out your sneeks instead.
4. Shopping list
It always pays to be organised!
5. Sunglasses

Whether its sunny, glary or your hung over, sunglasses will always help.
